Dr. Ashok Rajgopal chairs the Medanta Bone & Joint Institute and is one of India's most decorated orthopedic surgeons, having performed over 35,000 joint replacements including some of the world's most complex revision and bilateral knee surgeries. He trained at Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi and completed FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, building India's highest-volume joint replacement practice across a 45-year career; he was the longtime team doctor for the Indian cricket team and served as personal consultant to multiple heads of state. A Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri laureate, he holds Limca Book of Records entries for the most simultaneous bilateral knee replacements and most knee replacements in 24 hours, and is past President of the Indian Arthroscopy Society.
