Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin chairs the Medanta Liver Transplant Institute and is widely regarded as the pioneer of living donor liver transplantation in India, having personally led 4,500+ liver transplants with a 95%+ first-year survival — among the best globally. A full AIIMS New Delhi product (MBBS, MS), he trained in liver transplantation at Cambridge and Birmingham, UK under Sir Roy Calne — the father of modern transplantation. He performed India's first successful adult living donor liver transplant in 1998. He is a Padma Shri laureate (2010) and recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy National Award, has authored 350+ peer-reviewed publications, and has trained the majority of senior liver transplant surgeons currently practising in South Asia.
