He trained at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology Bengaluru (MCh Surgical Oncology) with Robotic Surgery Fellowship in the USA, and has pioneered single-incision laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery and the AScribed-CME (advanced scarless cervical-rectal surgery) techniques in India. He is a regular international invited faculty at robotic and minimally invasive oncology surgery courses, having mentored surgeons across South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and runs an internationally recognised observership programme at his Bangalore unit.
