Trained at B. J. Medical College Pune and the University of Mumbai, he is Managing Trustee and Director of the Aundh Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Pune and has served as Past President of the Cardiological Society of India. His community work on cardiovascular disease prevention and early diagnosis in rural Maharashtra has been widely recognised, and he has trained a generation of interventional cardiologists practising across western India and the Gulf region.
