Dr. B. S. Ajaikumar founded HealthCare Global (HCG) in 1989 and built it into India's largest dedicated cancer-care network with 25+ comprehensive cancer centres across India and Africa. As Executive Chairman he has overseen treatment of more than 800,000 cancer patients while continuing personal radiation oncology practice. A US-trained radiation oncologist (residency in Texas; faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center), he pioneered the introduction of CyberKnife, TomoTherapy, Da Vinci robotic oncosurgery and PET-CT to India through HCG centres. A Padma Shri laureate, he serves on the Board of Governors of multiple international cancer organisations and has been instrumental in democratising access to advanced radiotherapy across non-metro India through HCG's hub-and-spoke model.
